Application and Document Support

Welfare Assistance

When money, food, or medical bills become a worry, it can feel hard to know where to turn. Our Welfare Assistance services at Unity for Change are here to guide you step by step so you do not feel alone or ashamed when asking for help.
We start with simple, clear social services guidance in Georgia. We explain the different welfare programs, who they are for, and how they work. Together, we look at your situation and discuss which options may fit your family, including public benefits application help when needed.
For urgent problems, we offer emergency financial aid counseling in Georgia. We help you understand short-term assistance options, connect you with community education partners, and create a plan for the next few weeks so you can breathe a little easier.
Food should never be a question. Through our food assistance referral support, we connect you with local food banks, community pantries, and nutrition programs that welcome immigrant families. We make sure you know what to bring, where to go, and what to expect.
Healthcare can be especially confusing for newcomers. Our healthcare access support in Georgia includes help understanding clinic options, low-cost or free care, and basic information about insurance and eligibility. We can help you fill out forms, prepare documents, and get ready for appointments.
Because we are a nonprofit organization in Georgia focused on immigrant support services, our welfare assistance is patient, respectful, and culturally aware. We understand the fears many newcomers have when approaching government offices. Our team takes time to listen, explain in simple language, and, when possible, coordinate with our English language support and self-sufficiency programs so you can move from crisis to stability over time.
